How to make a Mango Martini
He said: “A delicious balance of flavours [make this cocktail special], you want to drink it all night.
“Fabulous cocktails [like this] can really make an operator stand out; the venue becomes a destination.”
Wood continued cocktails like the Mango Martini can “transport” customers somewhere different with just a single sip which was “wonderful”.
Well-balanced serve
Additionally, the easy to make cocktail could offer operators a gross profit margin of 77%, costing an average of £2.10 (excluding VAT) per serve to create with a recommended retail price of £11 per cocktail, according to Wood.
Described as a smooth, sweet and well-balanced serve from Guyana, Belgrove Hazelnut rum is made with single-origin Demerara rum and all-natural flavours, boasting notes of toasted hazelnuts combined with cocoa and vanilla.
Belgrove Hazelnut Rum (40% ABV) is available in 70cl bottle format at RRP £30 to the on-trade from a variety of wholesalers including Speciality Drinks, Master of Malt and the Whisky Exchange.
This comes as Speciality Brands rum ambassador Dean MacGregor recently told The Morning Advertiser consumers had developed “more trust” in the category as consumers explore different rum varieties.
Difference and variety
MacGregor said: “Consumers and bartenders alike are starting to discover the differences between the different Caribbean islands, as an example. People are starting to zone in and try different things.
“As there's more trust in the category, consumers are starting to discover what's actually out there and the difference and the variety.
“People are taking the punt, which is fantastic to see. It's been bubbling for a while, but now it's finally starting to rise.”
