Common Problems Opening WDF Files

Missing Workshare Compare

If you attempt to load your WDF file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open WDF Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Workshare Compare for %%os%% installed on your computer. You won't be able to double-click to open your WDF because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: If you don't have Workshare Compare installed, and you know of another program to open your WDF file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".

Obsolete Version of Workshare Compare

In other instances, your Workshare Compare DeltaFile file version may not be supported by your version of Workshare Compare. If you've got the wrong version of Workshare Compare installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is predominately due to having a Workshare Compare DeltaFile file version that was created by a newer version of Workshare Compare than what you have installed on your PC.

• Workshare Compare or another WDF application experienced a flawed installation
• Your WDF can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
• The WDF is infected with a virus
• Device drivers of the hardware associated with your WDF file are corrupt or out-of-date
