Troubleshooting Problems Opening 0.01 Files
Frequent 0.01 Opening Issues
Unknown Software Isn't There
You attempt to load your 0.01 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The 0.01 File Extension". Customarily, this means that Unknown Software is not installed on %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your 0.01 with Unknown Software, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens 0.01 files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Wrong Version of Unknown Software is Installed
Your Unknown File Type file is incompatible with Unknown Software because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Unknown Software if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Unknown File Type file was created by a different (newer) version of Unknown Software than what's installed.
Tip: If you right-click on your 0.01 file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Regardless, most of the 0.01 file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Unknown Software installed.
Additional 0.01 Opening Issues
You can still experience errors opening 0.01 files even with the latest version of Unknown Software installed on your PC. Other 0.01 opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Additional factors include:
- Windows Registry 0.01 file paths that are incorrect
- Unintentional removal of the description of the 0.01 file inside the Windows Registry
- Invalid installation of a 0.01-associated program (eg. Unknown Software)
- File corruption affecting your 0.01 file
- Your 0.01 is infected with malware
- Device drivers for 0.01-related hardware are out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Unknown File Type format
