Troubleshoot 264 Files
Frequent 264 Opening Issues
Roxio Toast 15 Removed
You attempt to load your 264 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The 264 File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Roxio Toast 15 for %%os%% installed. You won't be able to double-click to open your 264 because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your 264, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Roxio Toast 15 is Out-of-Date
In other instances, your Ripped Video Data File file version may not be supported by your version of Roxio Toast 15. If you do not have the proper version Roxio Toast 15 (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the 264 file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening 264 files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other 264 File Issues
Errors opening Ripped Video Data File files can still occur even with the latest Roxio Toast 15 software installed on your computer. If you are continuing to have errors with loading 264 files, other external issues might be to blame. These issues include:

- Unintentional removal of the description of the 264 file inside the Windows Registry
- Defective install of a 264 program, such as Roxio Toast 15
- 264 file corruption
- The 264 is infected with a virus
- 264-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open Ripped Video Data File files
