Sources of CHZ Problems
Issues Opening CHZ Files
Missing Unknown Software
You attempt to load your CHZ file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The CHZ File Extension". If so, it typically means that you don't have Unknown Software installed for %%os%%. The typical path of opening your CHZ with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your CHZ, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Obsolete Version of Unknown Software
It is possible that your version of Unknown Software isn't able to open your ChArc Compressed File Archive file due to incompatibility. Installing the latest version of Unknown Software from Unknown Developer is recommended. Your ChArc Compressed File Archive file was probably created by a newer release of Unknown Software than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Right-clicking on your CHZ, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening CHZ files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Associated Difficulties Loading CHZ Files
Even with the correct version of Unknown Software installed, you can still experience difficulties opening CHZs. If you're still experiencing problems opening CHZ files, there could be other computer problems. Issues that aren't software-related:
- Windows Registry CHZ file paths that are incorrect
- Accidental deletion of the description of the CHZ file in the Windows registry
- Defective install of a CHZ program, such as Unknown Software
- The CHZ itself is corrupted
- Malware-tainted CHZ file can't be opened
- Hardware associated with CHZ has outdated drivers
- Windows cannot load your ChArc Compressed File Archive file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
