Stonegate scoops two awards at BII's NITAs 2022
The company, which also owns the EI group, was awarded Best Apprenticeship Training Programme while Jemelle Bish, Stonegate’s career development manager, won HR Manager of the Year.
Stonegate Group HR director Tim Painter said: “Winning these awards is a fantastic achievement and great recognition for the HR and learning and development team, as well as all the colleagues who have participated in the programmes.
Raise the bar
“As part of delivering on our vision to raise the bar on British pub, by being the best for our people, guests and communities, our focus has always been to develop our people, and we are proud throughout the challenges of the pandemic we continued to provide, and adapt, our learning and development programmes.”
The awards, which were presented on Thursday 28 April in East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf, London, showcase individuals and businesses who put their people first, creating innovative training programmes and nurturing long term careers in the licensed trade.
Furthermore, the NITA’s follow Stonegate’s success at the Publican Awards earlier this year, with Craft Union Pub Company being named Best Community Operator and the development of their award-winning in-house learning and development programmes, such as Albert’s Theory of Progression (AToP).
Fantastic results
AToP, which is Stonegate’s development programme for front and back of house colleagues through the launch of Albert’s Accolade Apprenticeship, provides support and training for future general managers with the number of Stonegate colleagues currently participating in the programme exceeding 2,300.
Stonegate also facilitate Albert’s Interesting Map to Success (AIMS), a dedicated programme offering development and career pathways for head office and pub support teams, offering a broad range of apprenticeships, including MBAs, for senior leaders in the company.
Painter added: “We are delighted with the successful launch our new apprenticeships; we have already seen high levels of engagement and fantastic results with a number of colleagues graduating with distinctions.”
