JDW and Miller & Carter ranked among healthiest brands
JDW was listed as one of the top five high street fast-food and pub brands, ranking in third place, while Miller & Carter was named fourth among five of the top improvers.
Other brands named as the top five pub and fast foods chains were Greggs at number one, then PizzaExpress, JDW, Costa Coffee, and Zizzi at number five.
Most improved
Those that had shown the most improvement were McDonald’s at number one, Greggs second, Starbucks, Miller & Carter, and Ask Italian at number five.
The index score was gathered by YouGov through measuring the overall brand health, which was calculated by taking the average impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommendation and reputation from consumers.
By measuring the reputation of such brands, YouGov intended to get a measure of the high street’s strength and longevity.
The data follows the information gatherer’s Is there still hope for the high street report released in January 2019, which looked at the future of traditional bricks and mortar retail in 2018.
Challenging year
“There’s no question that 2018 was a challenging year for retailers, with numerous profit warnings, store closures and job losses. Familiar names such as Toys “R” Us and Maplin disappeared altogether,” it said.
“Online shopping has clearly been a major factor in declining high street sales. However, while much has been made of the ‘death of the high street’, some predominantly bricks-and-mortar brands such as Primark continue to profit.”
Drinks brands, including wine, beer, cider, spirits and softs were also measured in the recent YouGov data set to determine the healthiest brands.
