London-based house-party inspired late night bar and restaurant concept, Little Door & Co., has announced it will open its “milestone” fifth bar this summer.

Set to open in June on Kingly Street in Soho, the Little Violet Door, previously known as music venue Bag O’ Nails, has been designed to transport guests to a West End flat in the 1960’s with colourful soft furnishings, prints, bookcases and record collections on display.

The site also features references to both music and fashion throughout the 70’s and 80’s in a nod to the 3,400 sqft venue’s history, when it was frequented by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Pete Townshend.

Spread over two floors with additional terrace seating out front, the 180-capacity bar’s ground floor houses a relaxed sitting room and a vinyl bar, whilst downstairs has been designed with flat parties in mind.

British heritage

At the heart of venue is the kitchen disco, where DJs will provide a house party vibe straight from the kitchen counter from Wednesday through to Saturday.

Additional lower ground floor rooms include a living room, laundry room and a games room complete with retro video game consoles and cocktail bar.

Little Door co-founder and director Jamie Hazeel said: “The Little Violet Door takes us back to our British heritage and the iconic history of Kingly Street perfectly aligns with our vision. We can’t wait to bring a new era of the flat party to the space with the ultimate kitchen disco”.

The cocktails, inspired by the flat’s DVD collection, will be served in miscellaneous household objects such as vases and trophies with sharers in giant disco balls.

Real milestone

Unlike its sister sites, The Little Violet Door will trade from noon daily seven days a week with a menu of sharing dishes including tacos and mezze boards, whilst the Little Door & Co’s. signature bottomless brunch will be available every weekend.

As well as marking Little Door’s, which was a finalist in two categories at the 2023 Publican Awards, second central London site, once open, the Little Violet Door will take the group to more than 150 employees and on course to deliver a turnover of £12m for 2024.

Little Door co-founder and director Kamran Dehdashti added: “Following the success of The Little Scarlet Door, our ambition has always been to grow our footprint in central London. From hosting our first pop-up ten years ago, our fifth site is a real milestone.”

The Little Violet Door joins Little Door & Co’s other locations; The Little Yellow Door in Notting Hill, The Little Blue Door in Fulham, The Little Scarlet Door in Soho and The Little Orange Door in Clapham.
